Hand to Hand relies 100% on the generosity of donors to fund and resource our programs. We are always looking for second-hand clothing, household supplies, furniture, white goods and toys.Monetary donations can be made through Global Giving, Paypal, or directly into the foundation bank account (please see the details below). Alternatively, you can purchase items and bring them to the centre. We accept items regardless of their condition as everything can be used at either the preschool, poor communities, or prison. This project aims to provide, on a weekly basis, essential food items, in the form of food packs, to underprivileged households presently living in the slums in Pattaya. These packs help to improve the general health and well being of all members of the families. In addition food is used to feed children and adults in the Hand to Hand foundations preschool and Saturday Kid’s Club.
‘Garden to Market’ is a project aimed at helping people living in poor communities in Pattaya, Thailand to grow their food to feed their families and also earn an income by selling produce at the local market.
This project began with providing accomodation and has become a much bigger and far reaching project. We provide education and job training skills to those who have no education. In the morning, the participants will have the opportunity to learn to read and write in Thai language as well as develop basic numeracy skills. In the afternoon they will have the opportunity to learn skills such as cooking, furniture making/restoring, growing food, bead making and sewing. A combination of education and skills training will enable them to apply for jobs in the short and long term.
The Hand to Hand Foundation supports poor families living in the slums so that they can continue caring for their children, rather than abandoning them into ophanages. Our scholarship program is crucial as the lack of finances for education is one of the key factors parents abandon their child. In an orphanage their child will get free education, food and housing. For some, the decision to leave their child, is the most loving choice they have. We believe every child needs their family.
This project will fund urgently needed medical, dental, and optical assessments, treatments, therapy, and rehab programs for our impoverished children and rescued slum families. Many children require extensive medical tests such as MRIs, CT scans, etc. and will need treatment and therapy. Most children have serious dental decay. Many adults have never had their teeth checked or cleaned nor have they had vision tests. Our goal is to keep families together and help them become independent.
